Day 11 - Niagara Falls, Canada side

Yesterday we drove 3 1/2 hours (one way) through Canada to Niagara Falls. It was hot and humid until we got close to the side of the Falls and then got wet! We didn't take the boat because it was $40 bucks per person and with 6 people... not gonna happen! We got wet enough up above and had great views from the Canada side. The New York side didn't have as good of views so we didn't go across the bridge to see the U.S. side.
The Falls in Canada is very much a tourist trap! There is an area behind the Sheraton Hotel that has rides, shops, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe, a HUGE Hershey's store and more!
Oh, and below is everyone eating their $70 fast food meals! About 15 french fries was $3!!!!
And then we enjoyed the Falls!
This is the bridge to New York...
I am standing right next to the top of the falls in this picture (getting very wet!)...
Crossing the bridge into Sarnia, Canada wasn't too bad with just a few questions from the border guard, but coming back was much longer because they are more tough. The guard searched the back on the car, asked me if the vehicle I was driving was a rental car and I said no, it was my Uncle Tom's. He asked where we were from, where we were going, where we went in Canada and for how long, what we bought, if we had firearms, tobacco, fruit or vegetables. I stated that we had apples that we had bought in Michigan that I showed him. He took them and said he would have to keep them. I told him it was okay because they were not that good anyway and he laughed. Gasoline was almost $4 per gallon there... $1.03/liter.
